LV Damier Ebene Small Leather Goods: An Extended Review

Accessories

Many prefer LV Damier Ebene small leather goods because they are timeless and more discreet than the LV Monogram. Take a look at three different items: LV Insolite Wallet, LV Daily Organiser and LV Card Hold and Checkbook holder.

LV Damier Ebene Replica Insolite Wallet Review

“Hi Eva,

I wanted to share some photos of my recent purchases and see what you think. I’ve been very interested in SLGs lately so I bought a few things.

The first item I want to share was the LV Damier Ebene Insolite Wallet you had suggested from http://www.bagaholicsonlinebag.se/. Bagaholics was very easy to order from with a super fast delivery. Thank you very much.

I really like the wallet. The canvas is very nice and I think the interior looks really good too. I don’t think the canvas matches my Neverfull bag replica but neither are authentic so I’m not very sure which is more accurate. I don’t really mind the shade difference. I just like how organized the wallet helps me be. And since I don’t plan on putting my Neverfull and wallet side by side for any reason I don’t think the color difference will matter. My only complaint is the inside zipper does not close all the way. It looks like the end piece is too big. They also sent a chain, which I was not expecting. I was happy to get it but it is not very good quality. I sent some pictures to show you what I mean. It’s a very light weight chain that almost feels like plastic. Still it was nice to get and I will use it to attach the wallet to my Neverfull. The other bummer for me is that my cell phone (Samsung Galaxy S5) does not fit with a case in the main zipper compartment like I was hoping. It will fit if I take the cover off but it is still snug. I was hoping to use the wallet as a clutch. It’s doable but not something I would do all the time for fear of stretching out the wallet.

Thank you again for the suggestion. I have already started using

LV Damier Ebene Replica Daily Organiser Review

Hi Eva,

So last month Purse Valley had a sale: Buy two items, get the third free. So I went ahead and bought some SLGs I had been wanting. And based on the sale the average price per item was $100 so that made me happy. I like all the pieces. I think PV has beautiful LV items.

The first item I got was the LV Damier Ebene Organizer. I really love this item. It keeps everything in its place and I am someone who needs that. I think the wallet is very well made. The only thing that bothers me is the zipper closure seems to be loose and not taught. I don’t keep it zipped when it’s in my bag so it’s not a big deal. What I don’t like is that I don’t think its an item that is as unisex as I was hoping. It feels pretty masculine to carry for me. So I decided to try the insolite wallet to get the same organization with a little more feminine look. I still think the organizer is great but just didn’t work out of me right now.

What do you think? As I mentioned on your blog. A guide to help find nice SLGs would be helpful. Especially knock off Louis Vuitton products.

Replica Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene Card Holder

The other item I got was the LV Damier Ebene Credit Card Holder. Which looks a lot like the Brazza wallet but I guess the dimensions of the two are different. I was already aware there were not the correct amount of card slots before I bought it so I was ok with that. I think the wallet is very nice. I really like it. What I found out is that this wallet does not work for me because it does not stay closed on its own once it is filled with cards. I was bummed because I really like that it opens all the way and I can get to everything. I just hate that to keep it closed I have to watch how it put back in my bag. So my compromise between this credit card holder and the daily organizer I got was to get the insolite wallet. I feel like that wallet will be the best of both worlds for me. Which so far I was right. 	<p class=Tag: LV Damier Leather Ebene Small Goods

Louis Vuitton’s Resort 2017 Show in Rio de Janeiro

Fashion Trends

It has been quite a long time now since we came to the understanding that the revelation of cruise collections is veering to a completely new direction, namely, packing up all things, flocking up a batch of prominent fashion figures or just faithful friends and leaving the motherland for some remote cruise-worthy venue. Combining good relaxation moments and resort collection revelation event is so much inspiring, after all. Just in time when buzzes, lauds or maybe critiques around Chanel’s resort 2017 collection in Cuba have tailed away, Louis Vuittoncomes to the fore under the tutelage of experiment-lover designer Nicolas Ghesquiere to unveil its resort 2017 show in just another Latin American city, Rio de Janeiro.

Louis Vuitton’s Resort 2017 Show in Rio de Janeiro

May 29, 2016 saw the Niteròi Contemporary Art Museummorphed into that very place to host the huge Louis Vuitton team, reportedly comprising more than 300 people, among them being models, hair and makeup artists, seamstresses, public relations types, while the locale and international guests added up to 514. Alicia Vikander, Jaden Smith and Catherine Deneuve were surely in attendance and among front rowers as the brand’s great muses, while Alessandra Ambrosio took the charge of Snapchatting for the brand.

The starting point for models was the amazing amorphous building of Niteròi Contemporary Art Museum, through the red whirlwind ramps of which they were walking down to be greeted in the patio by the guests seated on iridescent stools, all arranged in the same Niteròi-style whirlwind structure. With the azure waters of Guanabara Bay and the rocky surface of Sugarloaf Mountain coming to the view, the guests were sure to feel with every fiber of their beings the free-spirited, terrae filius and athletic character of Louis Vuitton’s resort 2017 collection.

Actually, their contact with Mother Nature of Rio de Janeiro had started since early Thursday and those two days were bastante to take a helicopter ride around the city center, to trip to Corcovado and be blessed by Cristo Redentor and even to take paddleboard lessons.

And then on the third day, time was ripe to go in touch with sports as well, since it was the theme of Louis Vuitton’s resort 2017 collection as a tribute to the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympics, due to take place in Rio de Janeiro from 5 to 21 August, 2016. From the very first look of the show we could catch the whole ease of athleisure spirit with a series of scuba-diving-style suits exposing vivacious colorblocks and some pretty deconstructed parts on the sleeves, at the waistlines or on the belly parts and paired either with pointed-toe shoes or out-and-out resort-ready thong sandals.

There were also some red racer pants with black side stripes, windbreaker parkas, a couple of basketball shorts, some parachute dresses and those marvelous air blue ruffled mini dresses covered with futebol prints inspired by the illustrations of Brazilian artist Aldemir Martins. We could also notice a soupçon of black and white check prints either on the hems of a scuba skirt suit or on a knitted sweater, obviously driving at the discussion that chess would have been included in the Olympics as well by 2020.

The flirty ruffles were being delivered in droves mainly on super mini dresses, either at the hems or on the bibs, thus triumphantly marrying athleisure with hot Brazilian Carnival spirit. But when French elegance came to the mixture, it was a scene worth to be imprinted in memories for a long time.

“I never forget that I’m a foreigner, so I’ve also brought Paris here,” said Nicolas about the collection, “I think what defines our time is that women want to look sophisticated and they want casual sports clothes—those are the two big obsessions.”

The French spirit arrived under the guise of black polished pantsuits and skirt suits with statement crystal buttons aligned down the blazers, while those sparkling silver skinny scarves wrapped around the necks were really some pumpkins – kind of a scarf and a jewelry piece, two rolled into one. But sparkles and glitters did not end there, continuing their way onto a couple of effortless blouses as well that were so Frenchly worn over floral ruffled dresses.

As the true king of leather, Louis Vuitton’s resort 2017 chow was all the while playing with leather at times combined with suede, starting from a series of outerwear pieces to those belly baring ruffled dresses to a couple of amazing olive green and navy blue cutout minis promising to captivate many ladies out there. As for the bags, which are truly the brand’s security blanket, the styles were aplenty whether we had a yen for the cult-classic Speedy or the Twist or were enthusiastic to embrace a spanking new Pliage style or else in high spirits to carry that boombox bag that reportedly can really play music via Bluetooth technology. And who knows, maybe the finale samba performance was held to the Latin chords coming out of the very Louis Vuitton boombox?

Louis Vuitton F/W16 Monogram Canvas Supple Rigid Bag

Handbags

IMAGE: LOUIS VUITTON

The name is in itself an oxymoron. How is a bag possibly supple and rigid all at once? Well, anything’s possible as far as Louis Vuitton is concerned, and with their F/W16Monogram Canvas Supple Rigid Bag, it’s truly both hard and soft at the same time.

Well I don’t have the full info on this curious beauty just yet, this is what I know. Made to look like a trunk which of course Louis Vuitton is perhaps best-known for, it’s hard on top (where the trunk’s lid and handle is) and soft on the bottom (where you see the ‘soft’ Monogram Canvas). Priced at SGD7500, you could say this is another unique addition to the French luxury house after the successful launch of the Petite Malle some seasons back.

And while I don’t have the full info on this piece (or other pieces that will available in this shape but in different finishes), here’s a close-up of the Supple Rigid Bag’s gorgeous lock situation. More updates, to come.

Louis Vuitton Speedy 101 (With Updated Prices In SGD)

Handbags

IMAGE: LOUIS VUITTON

One of Louis Vuitton’s most endearing bag icons, the Monogram Canvas Speedy was the bag everyone wanted when I first started blogging back in 2007 (has it been that long?). I remember receiving loads of emails asking about the Speedy, from the various sizes available to how much it cost. And if I remember correctly, they only had the Speedy back then in either Monogram Canvas or Damier Ebene (Damier Azur hadn’t even come out yet). They didn’t have shoulder slings either (yes, now they do), nor could they have been customised, which is what you can do now if you so choose too.

In other words, because it’s been so, so long since I did anything on the classicSpeedy, consider this post your refresher.

Still available in the same 4 sizes they’ve always had, they are classified by length of the bag, so a Speedy25 for example, measures around 25 cm across. There’s aSpeedy30, a Speedy35 and a Speedy40 as well, which is the biggest in the Speedy family. Any bigger and it would be considered a Keepall, which starts at 45 (Keepall45) all the way to a 60, but that’s a post for another day.

Made almost entirely of coated-canvas with a smidgen of leather where you find its handles, the tab and the trim, it’s also extremely lightweight, virtually indestructible, ages well over time (especially if you are into the whole patina thing on the leather handles) and of course, affordable. Yes, that’s because it is mostly canvas after all, but it is also one of the few designer bags you’ll find in the market today under theSGD1400 mark.

Yes, it’s time for the prices. The Speedy25 is just SGD1300, the Speedy30 is SGD1330. Then we have the Speedy35 at SGD1360 and finally the Speedy40? Just SGD1390. Affordable, right?

And as perfect as the Speedy was, the fans wanted more. They wanted it to come with a shoulder sling as well, and if I’m not wrong, Louis Vuitton launched that in 2011. Known as the Speedy Bandouliere, it also came in the same 4 sizes and are currently priced SGD1880, SGD1910, SGD1940, SGD1970 respectively. Yes, it costs a tad more, but you’re paying for the shoulder sling made entirely of leather, and because it’s even more functional now, it’s ok, right?

After that (or was it before that), the Damier Azur Speedy was launched, which also means that as of today, you can choose from 3 different colours/patterns (Monogram Canvas, Damier Azur and Damier Ebene), 4 sizes and the option of having it with sling or not. Which is definitely more options than what we had back in 2007.

Other updates? The Mini Lin Speedy (fabric instead of canvas) has since been discontinued, there’s now a Speedy Nano (tiny tiny tiny Speedy with a sling) and of course, Mon Monogram, which allows you to customise your Speedy with your own choice of initials and stripes before it is made. There are also seasonal Speedyofferings, like one shown above made specially for S/S16. Not exactly a fan of this one, but since everyone here knows what a Speedy looks like anyway, you know what I mean.

All of this talk of the Speedy is making me nostalgic. I even remember back in the day when I would follow my girlfriend (and by girlfriend I mean a girl who is a friend) to Louis Vuitton countless times before she decided to get one, a Speedy30. I even toyed with the idea of getting a Speedy40 for myself, which I’ve seen some guys rock rather effortlessly. Which brings me to this question. Do any of you out there still use yours? Or are thinking of getting one anytime soon?

Louis Vuitton St Jacques Tote Bag

Handbags

Louis-Vuitton-St-Jacques-Tote-Bag

A new bag not presented on the catwalk, introducing the Louis Vuitton St Jacques Tote Bag in Epi Leather.

Fresh with feminine interpretation of the emblematic original, though it cannot substitute the ‘neverfull’, but the St Jacques Tote has its own charisma. It’s the ideal handbag for city wear thanks to the compact dimensions and a well-organized interior.

A distinctive style statement, in colourful shades, designed for versatility, this bag can be worn on your elbow, shoulder or carried by hand. It features wide opening and cowhide Epi leather. The interior is the most interesting part – with 2 compartments, 1 central zipped pocket, 1 flat pocket and a double smartphone pocket. There is enough space to structure all your essentials.

The bag opens and locks with a hook closure and it’s refined with palladium brass accents. Measuring 15’ x 10.6’ x 5.9’ inches (L x H x W), priced at $2350 USD, €1600 euro and £1330 GBP, via Louis Vuitton boutique.

The Louis Vuitton Alma Bag has survived through rain and storm; it has existed since 1930’s and has become one of the house’s iconic, next to the Speedy and Noe Bags.

The Alma Bag reinterpreted, released in the Fall Winter 2014 Collection, we’ve already reviewed this bag extensively, but we want to show you more colors and more options.

The refined style is innovated from the crisscross pattern that lined the Maison’s trunks; it’s named the Malletage leather and is beyond chic. Lithe and soft, the Alma has been reinvented; the timeless style blends a rich heritage and modernization.

Choose red to make a statement, it’s very notable when carried down town. Pick blue as a neutral color and combine it with the best casual outfit in your wardrobe.
