When it was about time to introduce the newest Lockit Bag to the Bag Obsessed, Louis Vuitton called up Michelle Williams to feature in their latest Fall Winter 2014 Ad Campaign.
But let us start at the beginning, let us give you some importance facts first before diving into the details.
You see, the Louis Vuitton Lockit Bag is not a ‘new’ invention, it has been redesigned, to be exact – for the second time. The original version was launched in 1958, it had an arched shape, a tote bag that looked quite modern in its time. And up until today, it’s still selling as a vintage piece.
The first re-design happened in 2006, the ‘lockit’ was reinvented and inspired by the distinctive closure system. A new leather tab with a padlock was embellished on the side, but the shape remains the same, new sizes were also introduced.
The second re-design is in 2014, the Louis Vuitton Lockit Bag has been restructured to match our time of fashion. For the first time, it’s crafted in grained veau cachemire calfskin – in bigger size, softer and also light weighed. It’s an understated luxury, pure feminine, in delightful and soft colors like pink or beige.
The most stunning is the new size, to give you an example – you can literally store your laptop inside. The shape is eye-catching and impressive, but it doesn’t scream for attention with an oversized LV logo, instead you will find the Louis Vuitton signature in small letters on the front.
