Despite the fact that plenty of people do it and plenty of brands want you to give it a shot, traveling with expensive luggage or carry-on bags makes me nervous. The airport is…just so disgusting. It makes me want to hand-sanitize my entire body, and as difficult as that might be, it’s even less possible when it comes to your bags. So far, the best compromise I’ve come up with for traveling in style is with a vintage bag, like this
Louis Vuitton Vintage Epi Leather Travel Bag. [UPDATE: Our commenters have identified the bag as a Louis Vuitton Taiga Kendall!]
This bag and others like it at East Dane (ShopBop’s new menswear offshoot) come from New York’s What Goes Around, Comes Around, one of the US’s best outposts for high-end vintage fashion. WGACA sells its wares both in its own stores and online, and it offers a small selection of leather goods and jewelry to both ShopBop and East Dane.
This hunter green bag (it’s termed a Keepall on the product page, but its not the right structure for that) is perhaps my favorite of the current offerings. The color is more interesting than the basic black that characterizes most travel options, but it’ll still be durable, particularly when combined with Vuitton’s hardy Epi leather. The best part, though, is that it’s a pre-owned bag, so you don’t have to watch it become progressively less pristine with each trip. As far as its next owner is concerned, it started out that way.

I’m not a frequent traveler but when I do travel or have overnight stays, my number one problem is packing. I mean, I pack a lot! Me and my friends used to check-in in a hotel when we go late night partying and they always laugh about how much extras I stuff in my small, old and ugly duffle. Well, I don’t care, I can’t survive an overnight without having to change at least four times. Lol..
But seriously, I don’t need to change my ‘packing style‘, my bag has got to be the one that would change for me! When the Graphites we’re released 2 weeks ago, I was going nuts over the Keepall 55 Bandoulière. I just ignored the other luggage coz I was being snobbish (again). But when I saw the Men’s Fall 08 Catalogue starred by Nicholas Duvauchelle, I felt love for the Grimaud! I thought Grimaud’s shape looks like a lunchbox; sooooo bulky! But actually if you look at Nicholas’ photo above, the Grimaud is not bulky at all! It looks really good!
This lightweight, supple travel bag in Damier Graphite canvas with a very sober city feel, is extremely practical and spacious. I think I can put in my shoes in there which is impossible with my ugly duffle bag. For extra security, Grimaud is equipped with a leather strap and padlock. And speaking of padlocks, the Grimaud sports silver brass hardware pieces that looks stunning over the dark graphite canvas. There’s also a removable leather luggage tag with the same color as the bag’s rolled leather handles.
The Damier Graphite Grimaud measures 17.7″ x 13″ x 9.6″. Available at Louis Vuitton for$1,840.

Along with the Women’s Fall 08 Ads, the Men’s Ads has also just been put up at the Louis Vuitton website. They just posted 2 two-page spread ads, why just two?! I hope LV would add more soon! I have no idea who these models are but I think the one looking though the window is Miro Moreira Thanks to 00o00 from 00o00 for informing me that the model is Ryan Kennedy/Public Image Worldwide! Anyway here’s the pics:
Here’s the cropped version of the first photo:

At last, after two days of waiting a Graphite bag is now up on eLuxury; and coincidentally, it’s also my favorite from the collection. The Tadao tote pays homage to Japanese architect Tadao Ando who won the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1995 which is considered to be the highest distinction in the field of architecture. That may be the reason why this bag looks really structured and very architectural.
The Tadao is a very masculine, modern, and elegant bag. It has smooth leather trims and polished silver metal hardware. It’s flat leather handles with link attachments are comfortable to hold and is easy to carry by hand. It also has removable canvas shoulder strap with clasp attachments. The Tadao measures 16″x 14.7″x 4.8″ and is available online at eLuxury and offline at Louis Vuitton boutiques worldwide for $1,410.

We can not go for more than a few weeks with Man Bag Monday without featuring Louis Vuitton. LV’s bag are not only iconic for women but also for men. Louis Vuitton offers a wide variety of canvases and leathers to choose from which makes each item stand apart from the next, even if it is slightly.
When the Damier Graphite collection was introduced in the Fall of 2008, it was evident it would be an instant sensation, especially for men. I love the pairing of grey and black squares which looks both masculine and stylish.
Vlad spotted someone carrying the Louis Vuitton Porte-Documents Voyage GM during NY Fashion Week. The spacious interior with its foamed computer compartment (15″) and interior zip pocket makes this bag functional for students and businessmen alike. The outside sports an easy to access flat pocket for documents or your cell phone. Overall measurements are 16.1″ x 12.2″ x 4.7″.
When I first saw the image of the man with this bag, it was striking. Many times men prefer to have black and simple designs for their briefcases and work bags. This makes sense, but runs the danger of becoming a little bland and boring at times. The Damier Graphite collection is ideal for the man who wants a touch of style without going overboard.

Finally a new Louis Vuitton line that men can get really excited about. I know I am. Vuitton debuts the Damier Graphite line of accessories in the attempt to revive, redo and revisit the traditional, checkered Damier design. Discreet, yet wonderfully masculine, the new canvas spans across classics, such as the Keepall 55, the Grimaud or the Cabas. Adding to the fine range of travel bags, LV reveals the new Roadster, a 24h-sport bag with a wide zippered flap for easy access. Even a Damier Graphite Motorcycle Helmet is available for enthusiasts who insist on sporting the ultimate in chic whilst cruising cross Roma on their Vespas.
